01About these terms
These terms govern your use of this website and the general commercial relationship between you and GLL Global, LLC (“GLL Global,” “we,” or “us”). By using this site or requesting a quote, you agree to them.
These terms are not the contract of carriage. Once cargo is tendered to us, the transportation is governed by our bill of lading and our published tariff, described in section 04.
02Services and licensing
GLL Global is licensed by the Federal Maritime Commission as an Ocean Transportation Intermediary, license number 034973NF, in both capacities:
- Non-Vessel-Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC) — we issue our own house bill of lading and act as the carrier to you.
- Ocean freight forwarder — we arrange transportation on your behalf as your agent.
Our tariff is published by Distribution-Publications, Inc. (DPI) under tariff number 034973-001 and is available for inspection on request.
We are not a customs broker. Where customs entry is required, we coordinate with a licensed customs broker of your choosing or ours, and that broker contracts with you directly.
03Quotes, rates, and bookings
Rates we quote are estimates based on the information you supply and are valid only for the period stated in the quote. Unless the quote says otherwise, rates are subject to:
- Space, equipment, and vessel availability at the time of booking.
- Carrier surcharges and adjustments, including bunker, currency, peak season, congestion, and general rate increases.
- Verification of the declared weight, dimensions, commodity, and packing. Cargo that does not match the declaration may be re-rated.
- Charges outside our control, including demurrage, detention, per diem, storage, exam fees, and government charges.
A quote is not a booking. A booking exists only when we confirm it in writing.
04Contract of carriage and liability
Where GLL Global moves cargo as an NVOCC, the transportation is subject to the terms and conditions of our bill of lading and our published tariff, which are incorporated here by reference. Those documents contain the limitations of liability, time bars, notice-of-claim requirements, and forum provisions that apply to the shipment. Read them before tendering cargo.
For carriage to or from the United States, liability is limited as provided by the Carriage of Goods by Sea Act and by our bill of lading, including the package limitation, unless a higher value is declared in writing before shipment and the applicable ad valorem charge is paid.
Where we act as forwarder rather than carrier, we are your agent. We are responsible for exercising reasonable care in the services we perform, and we are not liable for the acts, omissions, or default of ocean carriers, truckers, terminals, warehouses, customs brokers, or other third parties.
We are not liable for delay, loss of market, loss of profit, or any indirect or consequential damages.
05Your responsibilities
You are responsible for, and warrant to us, that:
- The cargo description, weight, verified gross mass, dimensions, value, and marks you provide are complete and accurate.
- The cargo is properly packed, secured, and marked for ocean carriage and for any inland leg.
- Hazardous, restricted, or regulated cargo is declared to us in writing before booking, with the required documentation. Undeclared hazardous cargo is at your sole risk and cost.
- The shipment complies with all applicable export control, import, sanctions, and denied-party laws, and neither you nor any party to the shipment is a restricted or sanctioned party.
- You hold all licenses, permits, and authorizations the shipment requires.
You will indemnify and hold us harmless against any claim, fine, penalty, duty, or expense arising from a breach of these warranties.
06Payment
Invoices are payable in U.S. dollars on the terms stated on the invoice. Where no terms are stated, payment is due on receipt. Charges are payable in full without deduction, set-off, or counterclaim.
We may exercise a general lien on cargo and documents in our possession for amounts you owe us, whether or not those amounts relate to the cargo held.
Accessorial charges assessed after delivery — including demurrage, detention, per diem, chassis, storage, and exam charges — remain your responsibility and will be invoiced when received.
07Cargo insurance
Cargo insurance is not included in any rate unless the quote says so in writing. Carrier liability is limited and is not a substitute for insurance. We can place all-risk cargo insurance on request, and we recommend it for every shipment. If you do not request cover, the cargo moves uninsured beyond the limited liability described in section 04.
08Use of this website
The content of this site is provided for general information about our services. It is not a rate offer, a quotation, or professional advice on customs, export control, or trade compliance.

09Site disclaimer and limitation
This website is provided “as is.” We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or current. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of this website or from reliance on its content. Nothing in this section limits the liability we accept under our bill of lading or tariff.

Any dispute arising from these terms or from your use of this website is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Florida.
Where a shipment is governed by our bill of lading or tariff, the law and forum clauses in those documents control over this section.
